Example- Watch The Sun Come Up.

I like this video as it has a story line, and uses various places such as the bedroom, the street etc. It also switches to cartoon sketchy images sometimes, which I really like as it just gives it that different effect and makes the video stand out more. Clips of him looking in the mirror and the camera is also successful and looks good when he is singing the song whilst walking. The colour scheme of orange/red and blue has also been thought about well. The shot when they are leaning against the wall at night with the light on is very effective and creates a warm scenery. The scene with the water is also a very good idea, and something I could consider when constructing my music video. The fact that the video ends in cartoon makes it rememberable.

The Script- For The First Time.

This is the URL for the video 'For The First Time' by The Script : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtCpC8jE_Cs. I could not use the embedding code for this video due to copyright. However, I used this video as research for my music video. It is very effective and has an emotional and interesting story line.  The video starts off with the focus of the girl. The camera shots used are good as there is a variation of long shots then close up shots. A lot of natural light is also used to make the video look more 'real life', which is what I hope to use in my music video. Photos are also used which is another thing I have thought of including in my music video. The focus of the video then switches back to the band singing the song. That is much more interesting to watch rather than just a plain story line. Different lighting when the band is playing is also created, in contrast to the high key lighting used in the story line. The video is also quite romantic and has a 'nice' feel about it, something I would hope to achieve in my video!

Original Bohemian Like You Video:

I think the original version of the video is cool and effective and I like the use of karoke. The lyrics on the screen is also a good idea, and something I may consider when making my music video. The miming of the words is simple to use, but interesting so I am going to try to have some miming in my video. However, the actual music video is going to be different as I want to create a story line within my video, to make it more engaging to watch!

Audience Research Questions:

1) What genre of music do you like best?

2) What do you look for in a music video?

3) Do you prefer a story line or a general band playing?

4) Do you prefer more emotional songs or more upbeat and happy?

5) Do you prefer teenage actors or older?

We are then going to interview sixthformers to find out some answers, which will helps us in the construction of our music video.
